Brazil began a 60-day user familiarization period for SisGen 3.0 on 1 October 2026. The updated software for the country’s genetic heritage and associated traditional knowledge management system was approved through Genetic Heritage Management Council (CGen) Resolution No. 53, published on 28 September 2026.

Peru’s regulation implementing Legislative Decree No. 1570, the Law on the Comprehensive Management of Chemical Substances, entered into force in October 2026. Published on 8 April 2026 as Supreme Decree No. 005‑2026-MINAM, it provides for classification, labeling and safety data sheets under the Globally Harmonized System, a National Registry of Chemical Substances (RENASQ), and risk assessment and management mechanisms.

IFRA took part in the EFfCI Annual Conference 2026 in Athens, with a presentation on regulation and innovation and a place on the conference’s ​‘Four Musketeers’ panel on global and regional harmonization and dialogue between policymakers and industry.

More than 70 participants joined a session on risk assessment and global fragrance regulation, co-hosted with Indonesia’s food and drug authority and the national association AFFI.

The new signatories joined the Charter at the ESG Forum of the CAFFCI Annual Meeting and Expo in Nanjing, China.
