Celebrating 20 Years of EPAA and Its Annual Conference

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the European Partnership for Alternative Approaches to Animal Testing (EPAA). Its Annual Conference this year was a significant milestone in promoting innovative, humane, and scientifically robust alternatives to animal testing for regulatory science. IFRA was proud to participate in the events, contributing to discussions that shape the future of science-driven and sustainable safety assessments.

IFRA and CAFFCI reaffirm partnership and agree to regular dialogue

Caroline Li, Director of the APAC Region at IFRA, recently met with Ms Yan Jiang-Ying, Chairman of the China Association of Fragrance, Flavour and Cosmetic Industries (CAFFCI), in Beijing, China. The meeting provided an opportunity to build on the two organizations’ long-standing partnership and to map out future joint initiatives.Discussions centred on three key areas: upcoming collaborative projects and workshop topics; regulatory developments and how both associations can support their members in navigating evolving landscapes; and mutual knowledge exchange between international and domestic industry stakeholders​.As a concrete outcome, IFRA and CAFFCI officially agreed to establish a regular dialogue between the two associations — formalizing a commitment to sustained, structured collaboration.

IFRA APAC contributes to RAIN Asia Working Group discussions on emerging chemical regulations

Representing IFRA, Dr. Caroline Li participated in a recent meeting of the RAIN Asia Working Group, a platform bringing together leading international chemical industry associations, including the American chemistry Council (ACC), chemical industry association of Canada, CEFIC, SCIC ( Singapore chemical industry Council), among others, to discuss regulatory developments across Asia.The meeting focused on recent developments in chemical regulations and the associated challenges facing the industry and global value chains. Particular attention was given to the implementation of new chemical regulations in Asia Pacific countries including Vietnam, which industry are actively working with local stake holders regarding clarity, practicality, and implementation details.
