This new phase underscores IFRA’s ongoing commitment to safety, transparency, and scientific rigor. IFRA invites all interested stakeholders to review the proposed updates and provide feedback that will help shape the next evolution of the global fragrance stewardship framework.

“The IFRA Standards are central to ensuring the safe and responsible use of fragrance ingredients worldwide,” said Jennifer Dorts, Senior Manager of Scientific Affairs, IFRA. “By opening this consultation, we reaffirm our dedication to scientific integrity and stakeholder engagement. We encourage everyone with an interest in fragrance safety to review the proposed changes and share their insights.”

The consultation package includes:

  • Updated Guidance for the Use of IFRA Standards, including the Standard Operating Procedure for the 52nd Amendment.
  • The full set of individual IFRA Standards referenced in the Consultation Letter.
  • A detailed annex compiling contributions from other sources, including information on presence in natural ingredients and Schiff bases.

All consultation materials are available via IFRA’s internal SharePoint. Stakeholders may also contact IFRA’s Scientific Team for further information.
