On 23 February, IFRA joined IFF in Tilburg for an on-site exchange with Mohammed Chahim, Member of the European Parliament (Group of Socialists & Democrats, NL), who also serves as a Vice-President of the European Parliament.

Discussion focused on the future of the European fragrance sector and the regulatory improvements the Omnibus VI proposal is expected to introduce, in particular to reduce unnecessary compliance costs and avoid repeated reformulations - while retaining all current product safety standards. Participants saw firsthand how fragrance mixtures and delivery technologies are developed and manufactured within a modern and innovative production environment.

The visit underscored how sustainability and safety are embedded in daily operations, and how regulatory requirements directly influence investment decisions, innovation and Europe’s ability to remain globally competitive. The dialogue reinforced a shared objective: ensuring that Europe’s chemicals framework, including Omnibus VI, continues to protect consumers and the environment while enabling innovation and industrial leadership.

The visit was attended by representatives of Cosmetics Europe and the Dutch Cosmetics Association (NCV) and reflects the united voice of the fragrance and cosmetics value chain in support of workable EU regulation.
