Dear colleagues and friends, I am delighted to welcome you back after the summer break, and hope you have each had an opportunity for some rest and relaxation. IFRA has continued to work over the period, with several highlights to report. In mid-August, in India, fragrance education took centre stage, with our Perfumery Course at Hindu College continuing well. I was delighted to meet students and faculty in Delhi, while our Vice President of Scientific Affairs, Matthias Vey, celebrating 25 years at IFRA, remotely delivered expert sessions on the IFRA Standards and allergen labelling. I also joined the FICCI Fragrance Business Summit to share insights about regulatory challenges and updates from the latest IFRA-IOFI Sustainability Report, published in July. IFRA’s Jennifer Dorts gave a very well received presentation on the IFRA Standards to the Summit. Across the regions, collaboration has remained strong. In Seoul, regulators, academics and industry experts came together for a full day on fragrance safety, while in the Philippines we marked the Chamber of Cosmetics Industry’s milestone anniversary. In Europe, we engaged actively on the Commission’s Omnibus package, welcoming its focus on consumer safety while urging proportionate, science-based measures. On sustainability, more companies have joined the IFRA-IOFI Sustainability Charter, bringing our community of signatories to more than 150. The third IFRA-IOFI Sustainability Report shows concrete progress across responsible sourcing, climate action and product safety, while the “Instant Lavande” event in France fostered dialogue on biodiversity and resilience. And with the updated IFRA Transparency List now published, our commitment to openness is stronger than ever. Finally, don’t forget: the IFRA Global Fragrance Summit 2025 in Singapore is just a month away. This is the last chance to register for what promises to be an inspiring program of global dialogue and unique fragrance experiences.
