IFRA contributed to this consultation by sharing insights on the practical application of the CPR. In its response, IFRA underlined the urgent need to address the issues arising from the quasi-automatic ban of ingredients classified as CMR 1 in cosmetics, despite their proven safe use, and stressed the importance of maintaining a clear, proportionate, and workable framework that supports consumer safety, innovation, and competitiveness.
This evaluation of the CPR is taking place alongside the ongoing legislative process on the Omnibus VI on chemicals, which seeks to simplify certain provisions of the Regulation.
IFRA’s key demands were featured in an article published by Chemical Watch.
