On 17–18 August, IFRA held a technical programme with ANVISA’s cosmetics and sanitizing products department (GGCOS) at the agency’s headquarters in Brasília. An olfactory masterclass led by perfumer Mônica Rossetto was followed by sessions from IFRA President Alexander Mohr and Vice President of Scientific Affairs Matthias Vey on fragrance safety assessment, exposure science and the IFRA Standards. The programme also brought together ABIFRA, IFRA’s National Association in Brazil, alongside ABIHPEC (Brazilian Association of the Personal Hygiene, Perfumery and Cosmetics Industry) and ABIPLA (Brazilian Association of Cleaning Products Industries).
The initiative was subsequently highlighted by ANVISA Director Marcelo Moreira during a public meeting of the agency’s Collegiate Board, where he emphasized the value of cooperation with the regulated sector in strengthening the scientific basis of health regulation.

IFRA to take part in CAFFCI Annual Meeting and Expo 2026
Alexander Mohr, President of the International Fragrance Association (IFRA), will travel to Nanjing, China, for the 2026 Annual Meeting and Expo (CAME 2026) of the China Association of Fragrance Flavour and Cosmetic Industries (CAFFCI), taking place from 17 to 19 September 2026.

IFRA and ANVISA hold two days of technical exchange on fragrance safety in Brasília
Representatives of the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) met the General Management of Cosmetics and Sanitizers (GGCOS) of Brazil’s National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) on 17 – 18 August 2026 for two days of technical exchange on fragrance safety assessment and risk-based product management.
