Peru’s chemical management regulation enters into force

Implementation is phased. For manufacturers and importers under the Ministry of the Environment’s remit, the adaptation period runs from 1 January 2028 through 30 September 2031. Notification and reporting obligations are subject to a threshold to be established by supreme decree in the second half of 2027.

The regulation covers substances and mixtures. RENASQ encompasses hazardous substances and relevant hazardous constituents in mixtures. The exclusion for cosmetics, household hygiene and personal hygiene products holding a Mandatory Sanitary Notification concerns finished products; it does not expressly extend to fragrance ingredients or compounds used in their manufacture.
