Four more Chinese members join the IFRA-IOFI Sustainability Charter

The IFRA Pre­si­dent, Ale­xan­der Mohr, PhD, together with IOFI Execu­ti­ve Direc­tor, offi­cially wel­co­med four more Chi­ne­se mem­bers as sig­na­to­ries to the IFRA-IOFI Sus­tai­na­bi­lity Char­ter during a cere­mony at the ESG forum of the CAFF­CI Annual Mee­ting. The new sig­na­to­ries are : Yinghai (Cangzhou) Aro­ma Che­mi­cal Com­pany Ltd.; Boton Fla­vors & Fra­gran­ces Co., Ltd.; Sina­ro­ma Tech (Jiao­zuo) Ltd.; and Hangzhou Gras­cent Co., Ltd. The cere­mony follo­wed the IFRA and IOFI execu­ti­ves’ pre­sen­ta­tion on the fra­gran­ce and fla­vours sus­tai­na­bi­lity charter’s fra­me­work and key out­co­mes outli­ned in the 3rd IFRA-IOFI Sus­tai­na­bi­lity Report.Eight mem­bers of the fra­gran­ce and fla­vor (F&F)national asso­cia­tion in Chi­na, CAF­FIC, have joi­ned the Char­ter signatory’s com­mu­nity in 2025. This increa­sing num­ber reflects a gro­wing inter­est among Chi­ne­se F&F com­pa­nies in glo­bal sus­tai­na­bi­lity initia­ti­ves, reflec­ting their rising com­mit­ment to Envi­ron­men­tal, Social, and Gover­nan­ce (ESG) principles.

IDEA publishes Extended Reference Chemical Potency List for evaluation of NAMs

This work, con­duc­ted under the aus­pi­ces of IDEA (The Inter­na­tio­nal Dia­lo­gue for the Eva­lua­tion of Aller­gens), pre­sents an expan­ded Refe­ren­ce Che­mi­cal Potency List (RCPL) with 77 addi­tio­nal che­mi­cals. The exten­ded RCPL strengthens the eva­lua­tion of New Approach Metho­do­lo­gies for asses­sing skin sen­si­ti­sing potency. We are deligh­ted to announ­ce that three new orga­ni­za­tions have endor­sed the IFRA-IOFI Sus­tai­na­bi­lity Char­ter. Recently, IFRA has wel­co­med two Sup­por­ting Mem­bers from India – Norex Fla­vours Pri­va­te Ltdx and Keva Fra­gran­ces, Fla­vours & Aro­ma Ingre­dients – along with Kao Che­mi­cals Euro­pe. Their com­mit­ment brings the total num­ber of sig­na­to­ries to 155.This miles­to­ne reflects the gro­wing momen­tum of our industry-wide effort. We warmly encou­ra­ge all IFRA and IOFI mem­bers to join this collec­ti­ve initia­ti­ve, dri­ving sus­tai­na­bi­lity across the fra­gran­ce and fla­vour sector.

IFRA responds to consultation on the Cosmetic Products Regulation

Over the sum­mer, the Euro­pean Com­mis­sion laun­ched a public con­sul­ta­tion on the revi­sion of the EU Cos­me­tic Pro­ducts Regu­la­tion (CPR). The aim was to gather input from autho­ri­ties and sta­kehol­ders on whether the Regu­la­tion should be revi­sed in the coming years, loo­king at what has wor­ked well, whe­re impro­ve­ments may be nee­ded, and what areas should be prioritised.
