On 26 October 2026, Eduardo Valle, Senior Regional Manager, Latin America at the International Fragrance Association (IFRA), delivered a virtual session for the Training of Evaluators in Cosmetic Safety – Safety Assessor course at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
The presentation, 'IFRA Standards: a global risk management system for safe fragrance use', introduced IFRA's role and activities in Latin America before exploring the science- and risk-based approach behind the IFRA Standards and their role in supporting the safe use of fragrance ingredients.
The session brought together participants from the cosmetics industry, undergraduate and graduate programs, and regulatory authorities, including Colombia's National Food and Drug Surveillance Institute. It formed part of a broader course covering regulatory frameworks, toxicology, new approach methodologies, in silico tools and risk management in cosmetic safety assessment.
IFRA's participation supports continued engagement with academia, industry and regulators in Colombia, helping connect the global fragrance safety framework with wider capacity-building on cosmetic safety assessment.
