European Parliament opts for effective cosmetics and fragrance regulatory framework

Brus­sels, 15 April 2026 – The Omni­bus VI pro­po­sal upda­ting the rules for cos­me­tic pro­ducts has taken a key step, with Mem­bers of the Euro­pean Par­lia­ment agreeing today on a way for­ward. The chan­ges voted on by the Euro­pean Parliament’s com­mit­tees uphold the highest safety stan­dards for con­su­mer cos­me­tic pro­ducts whilst aiming to redu­ce admi­nis­tra­ti­ve bur­dens and boost competitiveness.

IFRA launches consultation on latest update to its safe use program.

Gene­va, 12 Decem­ber 2025 – The Inter­na­tio­nal Fra­gran­ce Asso­cia­tion (IFRA) has ope­ned the public con­sul­ta­tion on the latest upda­te to its safe use pro­gram, the IFRA Stan­dards – the fra­gran­ce industry’s risk-based pro­duct ste­wardship sys­tem. The con­sul­ta­tion, focu­sed on the 52nd Amend­ment to the IFRA Stan­dards, is now under­way and will remain open until 12 June 2026.
