European fragrance industry welcomes consumer safety focus of Omnibus package while suggesting improvements

Brus­sels, 10 July 2025 – The Inter­na­tio­nal Fra­gran­ce Asso­cia­tion (IFRA) wel­co­mes the publi­ca­tion by the Euro­pean Com­mis­sion of its new Omni­bus pro­po­sal on che­mi­cals, recog­ni­zing its focus on con­su­mer safety and cla­ri­fi­ca­tion of cer­tain aspects of EU che­mi­cals legis­la­tion. Whi­le pro­mi­sing, further strengthe­ning of the pro­po­sal is essen­tial to impro­ve workability.

IFRA welcomes new signatories to the IFRA-IOFI Sustainability Charter

We are deligh­ted to announ­ce that three new orga­ni­za­tions have endor­sed the IFRA-IOFI Sus­tai­na­bi­lity Char­ter. Recently, IFRA has wel­co­med two Sup­por­ting Mem­bers from India – Norex Fla­vours Pri­va­te Ltdx and Keva Fra­gran­ces, Fla­vours & Aro­ma Ingre­dients – along with Kao Che­mi­cals Euro­pe. Their com­mit­ment brings the total num­ber of sig­na­to­ries to 155.This miles­to­ne reflects the gro­wing momen­tum of our industry-wide effort. We warmly encou­ra­ge all IFRA and IOFI mem­bers to join this collec­ti­ve initia­ti­ve, dri­ving sus­tai­na­bi­lity across the fra­gran­ce and fla­vour sector.

IFRA responds to consultation on the Cosmetic Products Regulation

Over the sum­mer, the Euro­pean Com­mis­sion laun­ched a public con­sul­ta­tion on the revi­sion of the EU Cos­me­tic Pro­ducts Regu­la­tion (CPR).
