Four more Chinese members join the IFRA-IOFI Sustainability Charter

The IFRA Pre­si­dent, Ale­xan­der Mohr, PhD, together with IOFI Execu­ti­ve Direc­tor, offi­cially wel­co­med four more Chi­ne­se mem­bers as sig­na­to­ries to the IFRA-IOFI Sus­tai­na­bi­lity Char­ter during a cere­mony at the ESG forum of the CAFF­CI Annual Mee­ting. The new sig­na­to­ries are : Yinghai (Cangzhou) Aro­ma Che­mi­cal Com­pany Ltd.; Boton Fla­vors & Fra­gran­ces Co., Ltd.; Sina­ro­ma Tech (Jiao­zuo) Ltd.; and Hangzhou Gras­cent Co., Ltd.

The cere­mony follo­wed the IFRA and IOFI execu­ti­ves’ pre­sen­ta­tion on the fra­gran­ce and fla­vours sus­tai­na­bi­lity charter’s fra­me­work and key out­co­mes outli­ned in the 3rd IFRA-IOFI Sus­tai­na­bi­lity Report.

Eight mem­bers of the fra­gran­ce and fla­vor (F&F)national asso­cia­tion in Chi­na, CAF­FIC, have joi­ned the Char­ter signatory’s com­mu­nity in 2025. This increa­sing num­ber reflects a gro­wing inter­est among Chi­ne­se F&F com­pa­nies in glo­bal sus­tai­na­bi­lity initia­ti­ves, reflec­ting their rising com­mit­ment to Envi­ron­men­tal, Social, and Gover­nan­ce (ESG) principles.

Caro­li­ne Li, Direc­tor of the APAC Region at IFRA, recently met with Ms Yan Jiang-Ying, Chair­man of the Chi­na Asso­cia­tion of Fra­gran­ce, Fla­vour and Cos­me­tic Indus­tries (CAFF­CI), in Bei­jing, Chi­na. The mee­ting pro­vi­ded an oppor­tu­nity to build on the two orga­ni­za­tions’ long-stan­ding part­nership and to map out futu­re joint initiatives.Discussions cen­tred on three key areas: upco­ming colla­bo­ra­ti­ve pro­jects and workshop topics; regu­la­tory deve­lop­ments and how both asso­cia­tions can sup­port their mem­bers in navi­ga­ting evol­ving lands­ca­pes; and mutual know­led­ge exchan­ge bet­ween inter­na­tio­nal and domes­tic industry sta​kehol​ders​.As a con­cre­te out­co­me, IFRA and CAFF­CI offi­cially agreed to esta­blish a regu­lar dia­lo­gue bet­ween the two asso­cia­tions — for­ma­li­zing a com­mit­ment to sus­tai­ned, struc­tu­red collaboration.

IFRA APAC contributes to RAIN Asia Working Group discussions on emerging chemical regulations

Repre­sen­ting IFRA, Dr. Caro­li­ne Li par­ti­ci­pa­ted in a recent mee­ting of the RAIN Asia Wor­king Group, a plat­form brin­ging together lea­ding inter­na­tio­nal che­mi­cal industry asso­cia­tions, inclu­ding the Ame­ri­can che­mistry Coun­cil (ACC), che­mi­cal industry asso­cia­tion of Cana­da, CEFIC, SCIC ( Sin­ga­po­re che­mi­cal industry Coun­cil), among others, to dis­cuss regu­la­tory deve­lop­ments across Asia.The mee­ting focu­sed on recent deve­lop­ments in che­mi­cal regu­la­tions and the asso­cia­ted cha­llen­ges facing the industry and glo­bal value chains. Par­ti­cu­lar atten­tion was given to the imple­men­ta­tion of new che­mi­cal regu­la­tions in Asia Paci­fic coun­tries inclu­ding Viet­nam, which industry are acti­vely wor­king with local sta­ke hol­ders regar­ding cla­rity, prac­ti­ca­lity, and imple­men­ta­tion details.
