Matthias Vey, Vice President of Scientific Affairs, provided technical insights on risk management and the IDEA project.
Dr Vey led a session dedicated to the risk assessment and management of fragrance skin sensitizers. The lecture offered a technical look at how the industry addresses ingredients with sensitizing potential, with a specific focus on the work being done through the International Dialogue for the Evaluation of Allergens (IDEA).
The IDEA project serves as a collaborative platform, bringing together industry experts and external stakeholders to refine the science behind allergen assessment. By participating in this annual course, IFRA provides global safety professionals with a direct look at the methodologies used to uphold industry safety standards.
IFRA thanks Prof. Em. Vera Rogiers and the VUB staff for hosting this exchange of technical expertise and for their long-standing commitment to cosmetic safety education.
