This regulation aims to protect human health and the environment by establishing clear obligations for manufacturers, importers, and users throughout the entire lifecycle of chemical products. It will enter into force six months following its publication, allowing stakeholders time to familiarize themselves with the rules. A gradual adaptation period is provided until 2031.
By standardizing criteria for risk communication and chemical management, the regulation aligns Peru with international standards. This represents a major milestone in Peru's ongoing process to join the OECD, while also aiming to boost the international competitiveness of Peruvian products and reduce chemical-related accidents.
