In March, IFRA’s Vice-President also joined SAAFFI’s Annual Seminar, which brought together more than 200 participants from across the South African fragrance and flavour sector. He presented on the development of the IFRA Standards and provided an update on preparations for the 52nd Amendment, continuing IFRA’s long-standing commitment to consumer safety since 1973.

The visit also included a meeting with the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association (CTFA) of South Africa, organised by SAAFFI. This provided an opportunity to discuss the risk assessment and management of fragrance allergens, a particularly relevant topic as discussions on extended allergen labelling for cosmetic products continue in South Africa.
