IFRA joins industry coalition in Philippines regulatory dialogue

The International Fragrance Association recently joined a joint industry effort led by Singapore Chemical Industry Council (SCIC), the national body that coordinates policy advocacy on behalf of the chemical sector there.

Together, the coalition engaged with the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB), the Philippines government agency responsible for formulating environmental policy and overseeing regulatory standards for chemicals and related industries.

In April 2026, an online dialogue was convened, during which the coalition presented consolidated industry positions on the regulatory matters under discussion. The EMB's response was encouraging: the Bureau expressed genuine openness to continued engagement and signalled its willingness to explore further discussion as the process moves forward.

IFRA welcomes this constructive approach. Productive regulation is best shaped through transparent, ongoing dialogue between regulators and the industries they oversee, and the EMB's collaborative stance reflects exactly the kind of partnership that leads to well-informed, workable outcomes. We look forward to continuing this engagement in the months ahead.
