Release of second flavor and fragrance sectors’ Sustainability Report highlights ongoing efforts of twin sectors

Geneva, 5 June 2023 – The International Fragrance Association (IFRA) and the International Organization of the Flavor Industry (IOFI) today published their second joint fragrance and flavor Sustainability Report. The report highlights the progress the sectors are making in becoming more environmentally friendly, on improving workplace culture, on promoting alternatives to animal testing and on being more transparent.

IFRA signs MoU on patchouli sustainability case study

The International Fragrance Association (IFRA), together with the Indonesian Essential Oil Council (DAI) and the Indonesian Flavor and Fragrant Association (AFFI), have formed a partnership to develop and document a best practice case study for responsible sourcing of patchouli in Indonesia.

IFRA congratulates RIFM on the election of its new President

The International Fragrance Association (IFRA) has congratulated the Research Institute for Fragrance Materials (RIFM) on the election of its new President. Dr Anne Marie Api will take over from Dr Jim Romine, who is retiring on 31 March 2023 after leading the organization for more than 7 years.

Stakeholders renew commitment to IDEA project at annual meeting, recognizing huge achievements in controlling skin allergy

Brussels, 05 December 2022 – Stakeholders at the International Dialogue for the Evaluation of Allergens (IDEA) Annual Review meeting on 29 November 2022 reaffirmed their commitment to the project. Fragrance makes the difference: new study highlights social and economic value of fragrance industry


13 June 2019 » Fragrance boosts the value of consumer goods such as perfumes, cosmetics and cleaning products by up to ten times, according to a global report published today. ‘The Value of Fragrance’ shows that the manufacturing of fragrance ingredients alone adds €7.2bn to the economy and is responsible for between €48bn and €72bn in Value Added for 25 consumer product categories.
