Fragrance ingredient defense is moving rapidly up the global agenda. What was once seen as a primarily European topic is now drawing attention and collaboration across many regions.

On December 1, IFRA and the China Association of Fragrance, Flavor and Cosmetic Industries (CAFFCI) co-hosted an in-person ingredient discussion session in Beijing. The meeting brought together Chinese experts, the Research Institute for Fragrance Materials (RIFM), and leading international and local cosmetics companies including Shiseido and Pechoin.

The session highlighted the value of candid dialogue, shared data, and close cooperation between industry and scientific experts. It reflects a growing commitment to advancing fragrance ingredient understanding in a transparent and collaborative way.
