It is with pro­found sad­ness that IFRA announ­ces the pas­sing of Pro­fes­sor Eme­ri­tus James (Jim) Wil­fred Brid­ges, who died at home on 10 April.

Gene­va, 15 April 2026 – The Inter­na­tio­nal Fra­gran­ce Asso­cia­tion (IFRA) has announ­ced that Michael Frie­de, Pre­si­dent Scent & Care and Mem­ber of the Execu­ti­ve Board of Sym­ri­se AG, has joi­ned the IFRA Board, repre­sen­ting Sym­ri­se. He suc­ceeds Claus Oli­ver Sch­midt in this role.

Recent deve­lop­ments under EU che­mi­cals legis­la­tion affect a num­ber of fra­gran­ce ingredients.

IFRA and IOFI have published the 2025 edi­tion of the IFRA-IOFI Labe­lling Manual, pre­pa­red by the joint GHS Task For­ce. The Manual was relea­sed on 15 January.

Public webi­nar on The IFRA Stan­dards: Risk-Based Pro­duct Ste­wardship in the Fra­gran­ce Industry. This IFRA webi­nar is pri­ma­rily aimed at sta­kehol­ders acti­ve, or based in, India.

The Inter­na­tio­nal Fra­gran­ce Asso­cia­tion (IFRA) recently con­tri­bu­ted to the ​“Safety Assess­ment of Cos­me­tic Pro­ducts in the EU” cour­se at the Vri­je Uni­ver­si­teit Brus­sel (VUB), focu­sing on the prac­ti­ca­li­ties of fra­gran­ce safety.

On 29 January 2026, the Inter­na­tio­nal Fra­gran­ce Asso­cia­tion (IFRA) orga­ni­sed the 7^th Review Mee­ting of the Inter­na­tio­nal Dia­lo­gue for the Eva­lua­tion of Aller­gens (IDEA) in Brussels.
