IFRA Discusses New Biodiversity Act with Indian Authorities

India’s amended Biodiversity Act (2023) and new Biodiversity Rules (2024) are awaiting operational guidelines from the National Biodiversity Authority (NBA).

To address concerns raised by domestic and international stakeholders, IFRA met with NBA’s Secretary in Chennai.

At the meeting, IFRA secured confirmation that the NBA will present on the amended framework and respond to industry questions during a FICCI- hosted webinar planned for 6 June 2025, supporting clarity and ease of business in the sector.
